Pay Now: Online Invoice Payments
Pay now adds a button to your invoices so clients can pay online by card through your own Stripe account. The money goes straight to your Stripe account, Due On Time adds no fee on top of Stripe's, and the invoice is marked paid by itself. Pay now is on Starter and Pro.
Starter has a 7-day free trial. Card needed.
How it works
Connect Stripe
In Settings, connect your Stripe account, or create one. Stripe runs the sign-up and checks your details.
Send invoices as usual
Every invoice you send now shows a Pay now button for the amount due.
The client pays
The client clicks Pay now and pays on a secure Stripe checkout page.
The invoice updates
Due On Time marks the invoice paid, cancels its reminders, emails you, and emails the client a receipt.
Where does the Pay now button appear?
Wherever your client sees the invoice:
- On the online invoice page your client opens from the email
- In the invoice email
- In every payment reminder email
- As a "Pay online" link on the invoice PDF
Who holds the money, and what does it cost?
Your client pays you, not Due On Time. Payments are made on your own Stripe account, so the money lands there and Stripe pays it out to your bank on your normal Stripe schedule. Due On Time never holds it.
Due On Time charges a 0% platform fee. Stripe charges its usual processing fees on each payment, taken from your Stripe account; see Stripe's pricing page for your country.
What happens after a client pays?
The payment is recorded on the invoice and the invoice is marked paid, so the reminders still waiting are cancelled. You get an email, and the client gets a payment receipt by email.
Receipt emails to clients are included up to 20 a month on Starter and without a monthly limit on Pro.
Which currencies and payment methods work?
The client pays in the invoice's currency, such as USD, GBP, EUR or AED, if your Stripe account accepts it. Checkout runs on Stripe, which takes cards and can show other payment methods you turn on in your Stripe account.
What it does not do
- Pay now charges the full amount due. Clients cannot choose to pay part of an invoice online.
- It needs a Stripe account in a country Stripe supports.
- Pay now is not on the Free plan, and it does not set up automatic card charges for recurring invoices.

Frequently asked questions
How do clients pay an invoice online?
They click the Pay now button in the invoice email, on the online invoice or on a reminder, and pay on a secure Stripe checkout page.
Does Due On Time take a fee from payments?
No. The platform fee is 0%. Stripe charges its normal processing fees on each payment, from your Stripe account.
Where does the money go?
Straight to your own Stripe account, and from there to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule. Due On Time never holds your money.
Do I need a Stripe account?
Yes. You connect your existing Stripe account, or create one, from Settings. Stripe handles the sign-up and identity checks.
Is the invoice marked as paid automatically?
Yes. When the payment succeeds, the invoice is marked paid, its reminders stop, you get an email and the client gets a receipt.
